Praying for our family during this hospital season
My father has been in and out of hospital for six weeks now. Each time we think we are at the corner; each time we are not quite. He is tired, more tired than I have ever seen him. My mother is quietly heroic in a way that breaks my heart. My children are confused.
I find myself praying very simple prayers now. Not for miracles. Not even for big breakthroughs. Just: a quiet night. A gentle nurse. A piece of toast he can keep down. The right doctor on the right shift. A short walk down the corridor without his hand shaking.
If you have a moment, pray for the small mercies. Those are the ones that keep us standing. #healing #family
